Happy birthday to our lady police reporter Jacque Manabat although she was celebrating her birthday yesterday. As we all know, she started working in ABS-CBN Baguio (Correct me if I'm wrong) and she had been reporting some of the stories from morning 'til midnight. She also became one of the youngest police reporter so far. She got what it takes to become a professional journalist of this generation.

TV Patrolers joins the Celebrity Bazaar

ABS-CBN reporters Jing Castañeda, Sol Aragones, Niña Corpuz, Marie Lozano and Zyann Ambrosio joined the Celebrity Bazaar today at Megatrade Hall, SM Megamal. They were selling their items from their own in TV Patrol Booth and many people visited them to buy and take their pictures with their idols. It's just a very huge success for the whole Kapamilya to help less fortunate people who will grant the earnings of this event. It was started yesterday and ends today.

Naalala ko sa kanya na lalong nagpahanga sa akin ay yung nai-cover niya ang pagsabog ng Bulkan ng Bulusan sa Sorsogon. Inabot siya ng ilang linggo para ihatid niya sa atin ang kaganapan ng pagbuga ng abo sa nasabing bayan.

Patrol ng Pilipino: Bata, bata, madumi ka yata? (07.05.2011)

MANILA, Philippines -- The problems of public education -- the lack of classrooms, teachers, books, comfort rooms and water -- welcome students every schoolyear.

These problems make it hard for them to focus and do well in class.

And if concentrating in a jam-packed classroom is not hard enough, what more if there are other reasons causing students to scratch their heads in class?

The University of the Philippines, together with the Department of Education, annually holds medical and dental checkups among elementary students. And yearly, dental caries or dental cavities and pediculosis or having head lice are found to be the most common problems among children aged 4 to 12.

In a school in Quezon City with a big population of elementary students, reporter Ryan Chua met quite a number of students with broken teeth and children teased because they have head lice.

One of them was Jerico, who said he could not concentrate in class because of the constant pain from his dental cavities.

What can be done to remove these obstacles that keep students from doing well in school?

The Department of Health is alarmed with the rapid increase of HIV cases among Filipinos. It is a serious problem not only for DOH but for every Filipino as the virus continues to spread across the nation.
