Filipinos are accustomed to the Catholic tradition of penitence during Holy Week wherein the common and popularly known rites include real-life crucifixion and self-flagellation. Julius Babao gets to meet one of them this Saturday (Apr 16) in another in-depth documentary titled “Kalbaryo” in “ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Special Report.”
Other than the conventional type of penitence done by Pinoys, Julius also talks to people who do it the unconventional way and to people who practice penitence by being good Samaritans— giving their personal wealth to help others. Also, find out what goes through the mind of former criminals who changed their ways to be absolved from their sins. What changes occurred in their lives after they made the decision to follow the good and right path?
Watch Julius’ full report on Saturday (Apr 16), 4PM to be followed by “Failon Ngyon” wherein anchor Ted Failon rescues two minors who were forced into prostitution. “Rose” and “Marie” were supposedly offered a job in an eatery but to their surprise, their recruiters brought them to a beerhouse. This is where they were forced to dance nude and used by their customers. Fortunately, there were able to escape and now they want to help those left who are also minors like them aged 10-17. “Failon Ngayon” airs at 4:45 PM on ABS-CBN.
