KARO Fan Interview: Getting In Touch with Jan and Mark (Part 1)

Mark Francis with Ms. Ging Reyes

TV Patrol Chatters Mark Francis Mahusay from San Jose, Batangas and Jan Enero (also known as TV Patrol Kid) visited the Newsroom of ABS-CBN last Thursday. They shared their memorable experience in their studio tour and they were able to see the Head of News and Current Affairs Ms. Ging Reyes. It was also the first anniversary of TV Patrol live chat also known as TVPeeps. As I interviewed them with the help of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, I had something to learn coming from these two nice people.

Mark Francis' last visit in ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center was 2009. After two years, he came back for our anniversary EB (which was supposed to happen last June 30) but since Arlene Burgos was busy, he just visited the studio of Showtime to watch live and in the newsroom, of course, to bring his special gift for the News Team which is very special for him. He is an avid fan of ABS-CBN since birth, as I noticed before. He also grabbed the opportunity to bring his gift for Ms. Ging Reyes and she appreciated his special gift.

"Di ko inexpect na mamimeet ko si mam Ging Reyes! mabait siya, amazed ako kasi di basta bastang tao si madam Ging Reyes! She's one of the most influential woman sa mundo ng Media ngaun!", he said during our one on one conversation via Twitter.

He made a specially-designed art work which he done for almost three days with full of love, inspiration and passion for ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs. As he told the story of how did he finished his art work, it seems that it looks like very cute and colorful.

"At first, mahirap siya talaga dahil cutting stage yun! bawat letters kailangan mong idrawing at i-cut isa-isa!I started doing it while watching and I finished the 1st stage, Bandila na!second day, "Glue Stage"..ididkit mo yung lahat ng letters sa illustration board and then babalutan mo ng tissue paper yung buong base.. 3rd stage, painting na! mahirap din ito..kelangan pulido ang pagkakapinta sa buong base..I made this from 8:30 pm until 2:30 am next day..haha! Nagpuyat talaga ako just to give a good product for ABS-CBN News. Well, gumastos din ako ng pera para magawa ko yun but ok lang yun, worth it naman ang pagod at gastos dahil sa tuwang ibinigay ni Miss Ging Reyes saken nung siya mismo ang tumanggap nun.. Nakakaproud talaga! All my efforts, time, and money are really paid off! I'm happy while doing it, promise!", Mark said.

He also shared his encounter with the News Team and the Newsroom. He saw that a lot of people inside the room was quite busy. He described the newsroom was almost big and a busy place for the reporters and anchors of ABS-CBN News. "Time is really important sa room nila para makapagbigay sila ng maaasahan at mapagkakatiwalaang balita at impormasyon!", he added. It was also quite different from ABS-CBN Batangas where TV Patrol Southern Tagalog came from. "Mas advance ang ABS Manila compared sa ABS Batangas. But with all fairness, ABS Batangas particularly @TVPST is really doing well..Baby pa kasi ang TV Patrol version namin dito sa Batangas! Malayo pa ang maaabot ng @TVPST, for sure!"

He admired some of the TV Personalities including Korina Sanchez, Karen Davila, Anthony Taberna, Julius Babao, and Sarite Kare, local anchor of ABS-CBN Batangas. One thing for sure, he will be waiting for them to meet up-close and personal. He also thanked the whole News Team and of course, Ms. Ging Reyes. "Sobrang Thank you for all the ABS-CBN News Team especially Miss Ging Reyes! Di ko akalain makikita at malalapitan ko siya! Syempre, naging posible ito dahil kay Arlene Burgos! If she's not there, di ko makikita si Miss Ging! Si Miss Ging ang tumanggap ng personal ng ginawa kong artwork kaya nakakaproud!", he said with full of pride.

He is getting excited to come back for the 25th Silver Anniversary of TV Patrol. And he knows everyone is excited about this because TV Patrol is already part of Filipino lives. Ika nga ni Korina, Ang TV Patrol ay Pilipino at ang Pilipino ay TV Patrol!
